Hello, just stumbled on to this blog page. I was stationed at the Mackinac Island Coast Guard Life Boat Station, now the Tourist Center, back in 1958. A year after the bridge opening. I spent 2 years living on the Island. I rode horses for Jack's Livery, and while on leave worked for the City of Mackinac Island. When I got married I told my wife I have to show you Mackinac Island, we now live in Ohio. We go back to the Island every few years, and it is always a thing of beauty to us. Our grown children now visit the Island often as well. Thank you for having this great page.

We love Mackinac Island and visit as often as we can.  Keep in touch thru webcams.  It is a shame that somewhere on the island there is no one who is welling to take over Mackinaclive.com.  What a great opportunity this would be for the Grand!  Love your site!

Greetings from Virginia. I visited your area last fall and enjoyed both sites and citizens. We are having a cold but snowless winter this year, but I follow your winter thru the webcams. It is so unique to see those snowmobiles on the island dashing about. I think I saw an SUV (police maybe) one day on the island--could that be? Dandelions have begun to appear in the lawn and the birds are starting to sing so spring is on its way. Hang in there.

Ah yes, the Mackinac Island Bridge Walk from St. Ignance to Mackinaw City. Love it. Used to do it for several years. After the walk I would treat myself to lunch at Audie's Restruant. What a great restruant!!!

Hello. I got to see my taxi...I love seeing the Arnold Line Transit Boat Dock, But I love Shepler's and Starline boats with there roaster tail better....lol Trying not to take sides lol But if I had to choose it would be Starline....Shepler's you got to get the Roaster Tail lol....Love all you folks. Keep doing what you do.....
