Mike Forrester said… - Joyce, thanks for checking. We made it through the flooding without any problems. I suppose our only issue is a park that is about two miles from us that we enjoy visiting was pretty much washed away, which of course pales in comparison to what some families are dealing with right now. Luckily, the weather has cleared and nearly all the flood waters have receded, so the cleanup can begin. It's a mess in some neighborhoods.

- We're fine, thanks. Knock on wood, we live on high ground in our neighborhood as the flooding is very widespread around the area. My 9-mile ride home took over an hour this afternoon as I-575 near us is closed due to flooding. I heard that over 100 roads in Cobb County (where we live) are closed right now.

Thanks for the note. I was quite surprised that the reporter wanted to interview me. We met during a tweet-up I scheduled on the island during my recent visit. The internet has turned virtual friends into real interactions with real people - and I think that's what I like best about this blog...the chance to meet people in person.
